A psychologist (psicologo) is a professional who holds a degree in psychology and is registered with the Italian Order of Psychologists. Psychologists carry out psychological assessments and provide psychological support and counselling.A psychotherapist (psicoterapeuta) is either a psychologist or a medical doctor (registered with their respective professional boards) who has completed an additional four-year specialist training programme in psychotherapy. Psychotherapists are qualified to provide psychotherapy for the treatment of psychological, emotional and relational difficulties and disorders.A psychiatrist (psichiatra)is a medical doctor specialized in psychiatry. Psychiatrists diagnose and treat the most complex mental health disorders and are responsible for prescribing and managing psychiatric medications.

Current research suggests that, in most situations, therapy conducted in person and therapy delivered by videoconference are similarly effective.However, some situations may make online therapy less suitable.If you are unsure which option is best for you, we can discuss it during the first consultation and decide together on the approach that best meets your needs.A hybrid format is also possible, combining in-person and online sessions according to your personal or professional circumstances (travel, remote working, transportation difficulties, etc.).

The first consultation is primarily an opportunity to meet and get to know each other. It allows us to explore your situation, the difficulties you are experiencing, and your expectations regarding therapy.It is also a space where you can ask any questions you may have and discuss any concerns or reservations about the therapeutic process. For my part, I will share some initial working hypotheses based on what you have told me and outline possible directions for our work together.At the end of the consultation, you can take the time to consider whether my approach and the proposed therapeutic work feel right for you. You are entirely free to decide whether or not to continue. Likewise, if we begin working together, you are free to pause or end the therapy at any time.

Online consultations are conducted via Teams. A secure access link will be sent to you within 24 hours prior to your appointment. Simply click on the link at the scheduled time to join the session.

It is recommended that both parents attend the sessions to gain a better understanding of the family situation and establish shared goals. However, I understand that this is not always easy to arrange, for example because of work schedules or other practical constraints. Both parents do not have to be present, and parenting support can be provided with just one parent.

Appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled at no cost up to 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, or failure to attend an appointment, will incur the full session fee.
